The ships, the \u2018Marella Voyager\u2019 and the \u2018Scenic Eclipse II\u2019, have chosen the best destination to celebrate this traditional ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives from the Port Authority, M\u00e1laga\u2019s City Council, Tourism board of Costa del Sol, Tourism board of Andaluc\u00eda, M\u00e1laga Cruise Port, Fundacion M\u00e1lagaport, Suncruise Andalucia and the port agent, Intercruises, take part in organization and celebration related to the christenings.<\/p>\n<p>The first christening, Wednesday, the 31st of May with the \u2018Marella Voyager\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The British company Marella Cruises, offering trips in Europe, Caribbean and Asia, has an important connection with M\u00e1laga, because the cruise company has chosen this place to baptize 3 of its 5 cruises: \u2018Marella Discovery 2\u2019 in 2017; \u2018Marella Explorer 2\u2019 in 2019 and \u2018Marella Voyager\u2019 in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The ship<\/p>\n<p>The flagship of the company will start operating in June 2023 with several itineraries in the Caribbean, Canary Islands and Western Mediterranean. It has 262 meters length, 13 decks, 952 cabins and a maximum capacity for 2.681 passengers.<\/p>\n<p>About the baptism<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018Marella Voyager\u2019, coming from the shipyard, was docked at Terminal A (Levante pier) from early Monday to Wednesday, May 31st until 23:59h. The ship embarked on its inaugural trip company employees and other industry professionals invited to the inaugural party.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, the port, city, province and region authorities went on board to celebrate the exchange of commemorative plaques with the Captain and his crew, because of this first and unique call.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, on May 31st, the company celebrated the baptism of its new cruise, whose godmothers were two workers from the cruise company, who together have more than 40 years of experience in the cruise industry. Los buques, el \u2018Marella Voyager\u2019 y el \u2018Scenic Eclipse II\u2019, han elegido este destino para celebrar esta tradicional ceremonia.<\/p>\n<p>Representantes de la Autoridad Portuaria, el Ayuntamiento de M\u00e1laga, Turismo Costa del Sol, Turismo de Andaluc\u00eda, M\u00e1laga Cruise Port, Fundaci\u00f3n M\u00e1lagaport, Suncruise Andaluc\u00eda y el agente consignatario, Intercruises, participaron en la organizaci\u00f3n y celebraci\u00f3n de los actos relacionados con los bautizos.<\/p>\n<p>El primer bautizo: mi\u00e9rcoles, 31 de mayo, con el \u2018Marella Voyager\u2019<\/p>\n<p>La compa\u00f1\u00eda brit\u00e1nica Marella Cruises, que ofrece itinerarios en Europa, el Caribe y Asia, mantiene una importante relaci\u00f3n con M\u00e1laga, ya que ha elegido este puerto para bautizar tres de sus cinco buques: el \u2018Marella Discovery 2\u2019 en 2017; el \u2018Marella Explorer 2\u2019 en 2019; y ahora el \u2018Marella Voyager\u2019 en 2023.<\/p>\n<p>El buque<\/p>\n<p>La nueva insignia de la compa\u00f1\u00eda comenzar\u00e1 a operar en junio de 2023 con diversos itinerarios en el Caribe, Islas Canarias y Mediterr\u00e1neo Occidental. Cuenta con 262 metros de eslora, 13 cubiertas, 952 camarotes y una capacidad m\u00e1xima para 2.681 pasajeros.<\/p>\n<p>El bautizo<\/p>\n<p>El \u2018Marella Voyager\u2019, procedente del astillero, permaneci\u00f3 atracado en la Terminal A (muelle de Levante) desde la ma\u00f1ana del lunes hasta el mi\u00e9rcoles 31 de mayo a las 23:59 h. La nave embarc\u00f3 en su viaje inaugural a empleados de la compa\u00f1\u00eda y a otros profesionales de la industria invitados a la fiesta de inauguraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>El martes, las autoridades portuarias, municipales, provinciales y regionales subieron a bordo para celebrar el intercambio de placas conmemorativas con el capit\u00e1n y su tripulaci\u00f3n, con motivo de esta primera y \u00fanica escala.<\/p>\n<p>Finalmente, el 31 de mayo, la compa\u00f1\u00eda celebr\u00f3 el bautizo de su nuevo buque, cuyas madrinas fueron dos trabajadoras de la compa\u00f1\u00eda con m\u00e1s de 40 a\u00f1os de experiencia en el sector de cruceros: la Chief Steward, Tatyana Olkhovskova, y la Destination Operations Manager, Jacqui Nobile.<\/p>\n<p>Como broche final, la compa\u00f1\u00eda lanz\u00f3 fuegos artificiales mientras el crucero zarpaba rumbo a su siguiente destino: Almer\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>El segundo bautizo: s\u00e1bado, 3 de junio, con el \u2018Scenic Eclipse II\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Este exclusivo crucero visit\u00f3 por primera vez M\u00e1laga Cruise Port el pasado mes de abril, antes de su bautizo, que tendr\u00e1 lugar el pr\u00f3ximo s\u00e1bado 3 de junio en la Terminal El Palmeral, tras realizar algunos viajes de exploraci\u00f3n por destinos del Mediterr\u00e1neo.<\/p>\n<p>El evento contar\u00e1 tambi\u00e9n con una madrina de excepci\u00f3n, la cient\u00edfica de la NASA Kathy Sullivan, quien, seg\u00fan la compa\u00f1\u00eda, encarna los valores de \u201csuperaci\u00f3n de desaf\u00edos, pasi\u00f3n por la aventura y curiosidad por descubrir el mundo que nos rodea\u201d. Sullivan ha desarrollado una exitosa carrera dedicada a la investigaci\u00f3n y la exploraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>El bautizo ser\u00e1 celebrado a bordo por los pasajeros, junto con 80 invitados VIP y medios de comunicaci\u00f3n internacionales que viajar\u00e1n a M\u00e1laga para presenciar el evento y conocer de primera mano las posibilidades del destino, lo que supone una gran oportunidad de posicionamiento.
