The international cruise tourism fair 'Seatrade Cruise Global', which took place this week in Miami, is the sector's first major event after the celebration of its Mediterranean edition. The cruise companies and professionals of the sector still remember with satisfaction its organisation in Malaga last September.
The Malaga delegation, from Malaga Cruise Port, along with Malaport Foundation, Costa del Sol, Malaga Tourism Board, Port Authority, the Ministry of Tourism, Suncruise Andalucia and Tourism Board from Andalucia Regional Government, held meetings with the main cruise companies, thus completing the schedule of contacts initiated during the commercial trip to USA last February.
The delegation coordinated their meetings in a space reserved for the Andalusian ports in the 'Ports of Spain' stand, coordinated by the Puertos del Estado, in which the port facilities joined forces to make their facilities known.
Conclusions of the meetings
The Malaga delegation held meetings with the main companies of the sector with the aim of continuing the professional contact maintained up to now and to show the offer of the port and the destination in terms of safety, infrastructures and services to the ship and the passengers, adapting to the current demand.
The recovery of the airport connection between Malaga and New York, managed by United Airlines, was the most outstanding novelty of these meetings and was very well received by the representatives of the companies.
Other meetings
Finally, as usual, the Malaga representation attended the working breakfast organised by the Spanish Tourist Office (OTS) in Miami, where those responsible for the Spanish ports and destinations met with the itinerary planners of the American shipping companies.
