The port of Malaga expects 117 cruise calls during the autumn season.
Three new luxury-premium ships will visit the port for the first time in the coming days. One of the most awaited seasons for cruise tourism in Malaga has begun. The port expects to receive 117 calls until the month of November, thus maintaining the figures of the previous year.
The positive evolution of the flow of passengers from the end of 2022 to the present day, which is moving with total normality after the pandemic period, reveals that there may be a significant increase in cruise passengers in relation to the same season of the previous year, and may reach around 200,000 passengers between the months of September and November.
Highlighted calls
During the autumn season, 7 ships from different companies will visit the Port of Malaga for the first time.
It is worth noting that 3 of them are new luxury-premium ships which will call in the next few days. They are the ‘Seabourn Pursuit’, which docked last 13th at the Palmeral Terminal. To which must be added the ‘Viking Neptune’, which arrives today, on Friday, 15th September, and the ‘Silver Nova’, which will spend the night on 22nd September at the South Berth.
In addition, the port will be homeport for seven itineraries. From Star Clippers, Croisi Europe or Seadream, to the largest ships, will offer their passengers the opportunity to embark and/or disembark in Malaga over the next few months.
The day of greatest coincidence of ships will be Friday, 3rd November, during which 5 cruise ships of various sizes are expected to dock, which will facilitate the flow of passengers during the day, as well as the diversification of scheduled excursions.
In relation to the total forecast for the year, the Port expects to close with around 300 calls and a completely normalised flow of passengers.
