A Special Event Featuring International Star Robbie Williams
During the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), the Port of Málaga, along with local authorities, announced one of the most significant cruise tourism events in the city for 2025: the christening of the new Mein Schiff Relax, part of TUI Cruises’ new inTUItion class, set to take place this spring.
The ceremony will be held on April 9 at the Dique de Levante, where, for the first time, three TUI Cruises ships will dock simultaneously—two of them making their first call to Málaga. Alongside Mein Schiff Relax, the Mein Schiff 5 and Mein Schiff 7 will also be present, allowing their passengers to enjoy a front-row experience of the event.
TUI Cruises, catering to the German-speaking market, has planned a special celebration headlined by international music icon Robbie Williams, who will perform an exclusive open-air concert near the cruise terminals for passengers on board and TUI Cruises staff.
As a gesture of appreciation for Málaga’s warm welcome, TUI Cruises will release 2,000 tickets for local residents, enabling them to enjoy this unique and historic event for both the city and the cruise line.
Ticket sales will commence soon, with the purchase link shared via the official social media channels of the Port of Málaga and the Málaga City Council.
About Mein Schiff Relax
Construction of Mein Schiff Relax began in 2022, and it will be the largest ship in the TUI Cruises fleet, measuring 330 meters in length. It is also the first in the fleet to be powered by LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas).
Passengers aboard Mein Schiff Relax will have access to 14 restaurants, 17 bars and lounges, a 25-meter swimming pool, and an overall design focused on relaxation—earning it the title of "The Wellbeing Ship."
Málaga’s History of Cruise Ship Christenings
The Port of Málaga has increasingly become a preferred location for cruise ship christenings, solidifying its status as one of the most important ports in the Western Mediterranean. Between 2019 and 2025, Málaga will have hosted five ship christenings:

June 2023: Scenic Eclipse II – Scenic
May 2023: Marella Voyager – Marella Cruises
May 2017: TUI Discovery 2 – Thomson Cruises (now Marella Cruises)

The official announcement of the Mein Schiff Relax christening took place today at Málaga’s stand at FITUR, featuring speeches from key figures including Carlos Rubio (President of the Port Authority), Francisco de la Torre (Mayor of Málaga), Francisco Salado (President of the Málaga Provincial Council), Álvaro Rodríguez Dapena (President of Puertos del Estado), and Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI Cruises.
Speaking in fluent Spanish, Meier expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and support of this milestone event by both the port and the city.
The event was further supported by Málaga Cruise Port, Suncruise Andalucía, and Fundación Málagaport.
