Malaga Cruise Port

The Port of Málaga is one of the oldest in the Mediterranean and a strategic hub on the southern coast of Spain. It features modern cruise facilities and a prime location just steps from the city's historic centre. The port handles a mix of cruise, cargo, and recreational traffic, blending seamlessly with Málaga's urban and cultural landscape.

Conde de Guadalhorce Dam

The north access starts by the Conde de Guadalhorce reservoir, surrounded by pine trees and calm waters. A trail and tunnel lead to the official entrance of the Caminito.
3

The chair of King Alfonso XIII

Before reaching the north entrance to Caminito del Rey, there's a stone chair where King Alfonso XIII signed the inauguration of the dam in 1921. Today, it's a small historical landmark along the route.

North Access to Caminito del Rey

The north access to Caminito del Rey begins at a small checkpoint where you must show your ticket. Tickets must be purchased in advance through the official website.

Hanging Bridge – Caminito del Rey

The iconic hanging bridge marks the most dramatic section of Caminito del Rey. Suspended 105 metres above the river, it connects both sides of the gorge. From here, you can admire the scale of the Gaitanes Gorge Natural Area, protected since 1989.

Set between towering rock walls over 100 metres high, the Gaitanes Gorge is one of the most stunning natural sites in inland Málaga. Running through it is the Caminito del Rey, a suspended walkway originally built to maintain nearby dams and water channels. Today, it's one of Spain's most famous hiking routes, with 7.7 km of paths and hanging walkways. The name ("The King's Path") comes from King Alfonso XIII, who crossed it in 1921 during the inauguration of the Conde de Guadalhorce dam. Fully restored and reopened in 2015, it offers a unique blend of history, nature and adventure.
